About You

Understand the Challenges

You’re interested in growing, but you’re not sure if counseling is worth the investment. Maybe you’re new to counseling altogether.

You’re struggling with someone or something. You want to see if you can struggle well.

The trauma, addiction, lack of or misuse of boundaries is getting out of control.

Consider Change

Clients often come to their first session feeling the weight of the world on their shoulders. Perhaps you have been reluctant to ask for help. During our time together we create an environment where you can safely share your story. You will experience increased emotional vocabulary feeling lighter and more confident, with coping tools for your life.

As part of my holistic approach toward reaching your goals, we will work together exploring your thoughts, emotions, unwanted patterns, relational stressors, and spiritual concerns.

Change happens slowly. Mutual trust in our therapeutic relationship is most important! I don’t want to waste your time, money, or efforts as this is your investment.

About Me

Background

Hi, I’m Hannah. I grew up in Phoenix and moved to the South on a full-ride athletic scholarship. College provided varied experiences, awards, and opportunities for international travel; but when it ended, my life felt utterly chaotic.

I eventually realized I needed help. Even though I was terrified, I began counseling…as the client! Now that I’m a licensed, professional therapist I want to help people consider what it might be like to struggle well, as I too have been shaped to believe.

If you’re seeking a therapist who knows what it’s like to face unsurmountable obstacles, to do what seems impossible, or who knows what it’s like to feel overwhelmed not knowing where to begin? I’m your therapist.

Qualifications

I have a Masters in counseling from Phoenix Seminary and worked at The Meadows Behavioral Health facility for four years. My extensive training and experience working with trauma, addictions, mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, and codependency have equipped me to serve you well. I’m also a certified sex addiction therapist completing training and all supervision requirements through IITAP.

Holistic Compassionate Kind Therapy, or HCK Therapy, is a play on my initials, but more importantly, it’s an experience. You deserve a place of refuge where you can consider your story and learn how to begin reshaping yourself and your life. Doing “the work” is tough, requiring grit! I’ll collaborate, challenge, and support you using a variety of tools because everyone is different. I’ve travelled this road and want to work through this process with you.  It would be my privilege!

Thoughts Behind the Logo

There are a few passages in the Bible* that mention pottery as an analogy. A potter and clay have significance in their determined roles and their dynamic breeds connectivity. Without the potter, the clay would take no shape and without the clay, the potter would have no work, no fulfillment, and lacking creativity. It’s a beautiful dance when swirling around on the wheel. The Potter (God Himself) knows his people (the clay) as we engage in the mystery of being molded by Him, even in the unknowns.

God shapes our experiences. And sometimes by our choosing, and by the choices of others, our life is significantly influenced. Holistic Compassionate and Kind Therapy was created to help consider the areas of your life in which this connectivity between you (clay) and your Maker (Potter) might be disconnected. I hope our work fosters a malleability and reshaping into who you are- renewed and reformed as clay. Let us engage in the mysteries together Holistically, Compassionately, and Kindly.

* My heart is to provide therapeutic services for you in a loving, safe, and caring space whether or not you’re a Christian. This may ignite unwelcome thoughts, feelings, or traumatic reactions in you; especially if this is not your belief system. I share my logo story simply as a way to help you get to know me as you look for a counselor in a sea of options!
