Who do you work with?

Individuals and groups, ages 18 and up. Depending on availability, I will see minors age 12+, so please inquire.

What will we do in counseling? How is counseling structured?

All clients voluntarily agree to sessions, workshops, etc.  Counseling involves a large commitment of time, money, and energy, so I want you to be thoughtful about the treatment you select.  In the first couple of sessions, decide if I am a good fit for you. If you feel that the connection is not there, don’t force it. I am happy to assist you in finding a new clinician.

All clients are expected to show up to appointments on time, be prepared to focus on and discuss mental health goals and issues (past and present), actively engage, and not attend while under the influence of mood-altering chemicals. Clients are expected to be open and honest so I can assist you with your goals as I will be honest with you about what I observe and recommend. In order for therapy to be most successful, you are encouraged to work on things talked about both during your sessions and at home.

Is what we talk about in counseling confidential?

Everything you talk about with your counselor is confidential. Our counseling licenses require us to keep your information and what we talk about between you and me through HIPAA compliant platforms.

There are only a few exceptions when required by law to share information from a session. Because I am a mandated reporter, I must report to the appropriate state agencies if there is physical abuse, sexual abuse, or neglect to a child or a vulnerable adult. I would also notify family or emergency services if a client was planning on hurting themselves or others.

Consultation may also occur between therapists in order to provide you with the best possible care. No identifiable information would be given in these interactions and you would be informed if this is to occur.

Are we a good fit? Will you offer referrals if we aren’t a good fit?

The therapeutic process is relational, so finding a counselor that you are compatible with is vital. You need to feel seen, heard, and understood by your therapist. Their insights and suggestions are to encourage your healing journey while sensing mutual trust. If you do not “click” with your therapist, I can help you find alternative options.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not currently take insurance.** I accept cash, check, credit card, and FSA/HSA debit cards for payment through a HIPAA compliant secure online portal called Simple Practice.

I will diagnose which helps us put language to what is going on for my clients, but this information does not go to your insurance and therefore not on your permanent medical record. My hope is that counseling is a safe space and not something that a client is worried about a 3rd party keeping tabs on what is happening in the counseling environment.

**If you wish to submit a claim to your insurance, I can provide you with a superbill.

Are Telehealth sessions available?

Yes. This is currently the only way I offer therapy unless I come speak with your group.

How do I book an appointment?

If you’re a first-time client click on the “Book Appt” tab or email me. I also offer a free 15-minute consultation call. Returning clients can login to your Simple Practice portal and request an appointment online.

What happens if I have to cancel my Appointment?

I require a 24-hour notice for all cancellations. Failure to cancel within that time frame results in a charge of your full session fee.

Where are you located?

I currently only see clients online.

Business hours?

I typically return emails & phone calls within 24-48 hours during the business week.
