A Mental Health Tool Box
Cranial-Electro Stimulation
CES was developed in the Soviet Union in the late 1940s to help with sleep problems and has since been used by millions of people all over the world.
Over 200 studies to date have shown that CES increase the calming type of neurotransmitters within the brain like serotonin and endorphins. Clinical research over the past 50 years has shown that CES calms the mind, boosts relaxation, helps with sleep and improves mental sharpness and ability in general. CES is particularly useful in producing calm in situations like being at the dentist, while writing exams or struggling with the fast pace of work or school. CES also settles body discomfort.
Heart Rate Variability
HRV measures heart beat rates from the two branches of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). The sympathetic nerves act to accelerate heart rate and the parasympathetic (vagus) nerves slow it down. The ANS systems continually interact maintaining optimal cardiovascular activity while appropriately reacting to changing external and internal conditions. The analysis of HRV therefore serves as a dynamic window into the function and balance of the ANS.
HeartMath found the emotions we experience directly affect our heart rhythm pattern and this, in turn, tells us much about how our body is functioning. In general, emotional stress gives rise to irregular heart rhythm patterns while uplifting emotions provide a smoother, ordered, harmonious heart wave. When we are generating a coherent heart rhythm, the activity in the two branches synchronize and operate with increased efficiency. It’s no wonder that positive emotions feel so good. They actually help our body’s systems synchronize and work better.
Touchpoint Solutions
TouchPoints’ patent-pending BLAST (bi-lateral alternating stimulation-tactile technology) is scientifically proven to alter the body’s “fight or flight” response caused by stress. The wearables emit vibrations that disengage your standard stress response which can impact your performance and health.
And the results have shown to be lifechanging. This unique process of shifting from one brain area to another has been proven to create new behavior patterns that lessen your reaction to stress over time.

Book Reviews
Let’s be honest- How enjoyable books, music and movies are can really depend on how we’re feeling, and my book reviews will likely be impacted by my mood. So, while you should take these with a grain of salt, I hope you’ll enjoy the reviews. Pick those books that appeal or apply to you. I’ll try to have a diverse group to choose from. If there’s one you’d like me to read, send me an email and I’ll consider it.
